About Rachel Weldon
I am a licensed mental health counselor with a 7 year background working with clients in both emergency services and outpatient settings. This has given me the opportunity to gain experience with various mental health disorders including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders, eating disorders and trauma. I specialize in working with patient’s ranging from early childhood to young adulthood, however I also have experience working with groups, couples and, families.
In working with patient’s, I believe that everyone is different in the way that we learn, perceive things, grieve, and process the stressors in our lives. This is important to consider when working with people. What works for you may not work for someone else, and that is why I use an eclectic approach to find practical coping strategies that work for you as an individual, couple or family unit. I have experience using a wide variety of therapeutic techniques including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and art therapy. I believe that it is important to build a safe and trusting relationship with one another so that you are able to share your struggles, stressors, and accomplishments in a positive, supportive, and motivational atmosphere.
